G'day all,

I have just been looking at this program again after someone posted about it here. I had it before Oziexplorer and do most things with ozi.

On looking at it again though. I think it is a program with a lot of potential. Does anyone else use it?

It does quite a lot for a free program,

I really like the set up of the moving map with realistic looking ana-logue type dials. :)

PS - the hyphen is in ana-logue to stop the bad word filter from thinking I am saying something quite strange - ****ogue - see.

- Most complete free program for GPS devices
- Compatible with more than 160 GPS models
- Support for Garmin, Magellan and others
- Easily create your own maps
- Support for vector maps and images
- Multi-Language
- Vehicle Tracking and AVL
- Completely free. No Adware, Spyware, ...

These are the claims made on the site.

And the free version,

* You can create fast vectorial background maps
* Download and upload Waypoints, Tracklogs and Routes to/from GPS
* More than 260 GPS icons for Waypoints
* Calibrate map images in GIF, JPG, BMP, WMF and EMF
* Many tools to create Tracklogs
* Many other tools to create your own maps

It is actually quite nice to make up maps in by importing shapefile data.

It also works well with functions which bring up Google Earth and Google Maps,

Hello - doesnt appear to have a pocket PC version - which equats to one big drawback (for some). Also doesnt seem to support ecw files..or does it? Despite these inadequacies it looks like a very useful program. I wonder how hard it is to use exsiting OziExplorer calibrated maps. It would be more than a pain if you had to manually recalibrate/convert all your maps (e.g. I have thousands) if your were making the switch.

Cheers
Greg

Unfortunately it does not use the ozi map calibration. :(

Also it does not support ecw images which is also something that would make the program excellent.

Calibration is easy though being a map corner to corner process.
